Remembering Paul Vallone

June 2, 1967 – January 27, 2024

Bayside Historical Society mourns the passing of former Councilmember Paul Vallone. In his eight years serving in the City Council, Paul worked closely with BHS, supporting our education and preservation mission. The BHS Annual Fort Totten Fireworks Celebration was created in conjunction with Paul’s office and driven by his desire to deliver an outdoor event where the community could come together and honor the birth of our great nation. The event continues today. In particular, Paul worked closely with BHS as Councilmember to designate two exceptional, historical buildings in Bayside which are now protected in perpetuity by the Landmarks Preservation Commission.

BHS offers our heartfelt condolences to the Vallone family. He will be remembered fondly by us all.
